Angelina’s Portfolio
aspiring Architecture student
Welcome to Angelina's portfolio! For her, architecture is a natural extension of art. Her work showcases not only her artistic abilities to play with space, color, and, lighting but also her passion in design. She desires to create welcoming and enjoyable spaces that promote community regardless of the size of the space or location.

Portraits
Childhood series
I explored how my younger self saw the world-through her imagination, play, and sibling bonds. She captures her joy and dreams, from rain sounding like firecrackers under an umbrella to pretending to be a rockstar or seeing tea spill out like magic. The vibrant colors reflect the exhilarating energy of childhood, while the final image shows her overwhelmed, leaving play for adolescence. The goldfishes slip apart as her childhood self fades and her teen self emerges. My portfolio honors my inner child, who would smile seeing these moments remembered.

About
Angelina Malhotra is an aspiring architecture student who’s been immersed in art since the age of six, learning to create everything from sculpting mystical creatures to live figure sketching and mixed media corsets. Art allows her to express herself and gain a deeper understanding of who she is and what she needs to learn and grow. When she paint a self-portrait, she challenges herself to not only understand the experiences that have shaped her, but also who she want to be. But art isn’t just how she express herself, it's how she connect with others and help them feel seen, too. Her greatest talent is using art to help others see and understand who they are and the value that she see in them. She has used art to do everything from creating a portrait of a young child in Peru that reflects who he wants to be to patiently mentoring young middle school students on how to make gel prints so that they can become more confident as artists. She is an artist who will always use her art to learn, and to grow, but most importantly to help those around her by giving them hope and self expression.
